- When is Steam Early Access?
The release of Early Access for beta decay on Steam is dependent on the completion of roadmap features. You may view the beta decay roadmap directly below: Roadmap Early Access for beta decay will be released when all beta (-) decay features on the Roadmap are marked 'Ready for Early Access' Features denoted 'Ready for Testing' have already been completed at their core! But still require a final round of testing before public access. Please be mindful that no hard dates have been announced . The publicly shared dates are generally derived from the level of effort behind the given scope at that time. There will always be changes and the game will continue to evolve. Absolutely everything is progress.

In addition, you may track more detailed progress through Devlogs that are released on Patreon near the end of every month. Lastly, all major news and information is communicated across Discord, Patreon, the Main Website, and via email Please keep in mind that any dates that are communicated are estimates and are subject to change. Estimates for Early access should be related to the completion status of the Roadmap's Early Access Features.
- Will there be Single-Player Campaigns?
No. The game is presented as a single world sandbox.
- MacOS Availability?
Throughout Early Access, it is likely that time will be dedicated to get things working on MacOS. The capabilities to build on MacOS are there, it's just a matter of dedicating time to get the game running on other platforms. Initial versions of the game during Early Access will be released on Windows.
- Is the game an RPG?
beta decay contains elements of a Role-Playing game (RPG). The game's core premise allows players to assume roles that fit their play style and interest. For example, if you would like to become an engineer, you may craft or purchase welding equipment, then take on repair contracts to earn some funds. Perhaps afterwards, you decide to register your own welding company and obtain better equipment with your own branded emblem. While there is no hard set, linear storyline, the world is rich and bountiful with lore and clues on the evolution of existence. These may be observed through company names, locations, the nature of items, and more. - Crowdfunding and Rewards
Feel free to donate here if you simply would like to support the game. Which is very much appreciated!! Currently, there are no rewards listed for Patreon membership tiers. Previously, for a limited time period, a Patreon reward existed within the 'Division Director' tier that rewarded a copy of the game on release. A key will be requested and provided to those who had previously supported to this tier! Please be aware that this reward no longer exists. Additionally, for the passionate crowdfunders that supported $50 or more and were outside of the 'Division Director Tier' before Feb 2025, a key will also be requested and provided. (As rewards no longer existed past this point) - Note that there is a limit to the number of Steam keys that can be requested. Overall, the goal is to follow Steam's guidelines while giving back to crowdfunders. I would like to again thank everyone for the continued support and having such a strong an interest in the game!
- Will there be a demo?
Currently, there are no plans to release a demo (however, this may change). If there is a demo, it will not arrive until after the game is released.
- What is the current state of the playtest?
Currently, the playtest of the legacy pre-alpha build is no longer active on Steam. There are plans to conduct another playtest with the new networked build with the primary focus of testing core networking elements. More information will be communicated when this build is nearing a ready-to test state. A reminder - The objective of the pre-alpha/alpha programs is to deliver and improve early versions of the game in a phased base approach. Each phase includes a limited scope of playable game features over a specified duration of time.

In attempt to consolidate, provide ease of access, and create a more centralized community to manage, the primary fanbase/hub for communication may be found in the beta decay Discord Server . The website forums are no longer active.
